Getting ready for CHRISTMAS!

Well, it's been way too long! I can't really believe that Thanksgiving is over and we're heading rapidly towards Christmas. I need to get myself moving on my Card-Making .... here's a quick start with the Hearts Come Home bundle. I love, love, love this set with the houses framelits. Perfect for shadow cards ....

I made a simple shadow box. 2 pieces of 4.25x 6.24 scored at 3/4" and 5.5". I just folded the edges in and glued the 2 pieces together. The back of the card has a sheet of glimmer paper (I used the silver and the champagne) the Church at the front is attached to the inner oval with dimensionals, then the back row of houses is also attached with dimensionals except I layered 2 up to make it sit a little higher on the back-side.

I made one with Cherry Cobbler too, but the white ones remain my favourites.

I made up some gift boxes too. This is some older, retired cardstock which came embossed with different patterns. I brayered 2 sheets with Alway Artichoke ink, it gives it a shaded/faded look which I like.

Birthday Bouquet

This is a new set in the 2017/18 catalogue called "Beautiful Bouquet". It's a bundle, with framelits and the coordinating stamp. It's lovely to use, some very pretty florals in it. I'll have fun using them all. This is going to my dear friend, Hilary, whose birthday is the 12th. Happy Birthday, Hil!

Lemon Lime Love

I am really enjoying the new SU Colour, Lemon Lime Twist. It's so fresh and vibrant when paired with white. This is a card for a friend who just underwent quite invasive surgery. Hopefully it's cheery enough to give her a smile.

The fold is based on these directions from Beccy in Australia! It came together (relatively) simply. You can see all the different folds in the 3rd photo.

A Move to the Seaside

A friend asked me to make a new home card with a twist. She needed one for a couple who are retiring to the seaside, so wanted something beach-themed. Luckily, I still have the 2 retired stamp sets used in this card. I love how it turned out, based on this fold by Jeanie Stark.

New Home

The daughter of a very dear friend has bought a Condo in Chicago so I took the opportunity to use my new bundle "At Home With You". I've been seeing some gorgeous samples with this set and love how this turned out.

I made the bricks by using the new Decorative Mask and Embossing Paste mixed with 2 drops of Cajun Craze. The result was a little too white, so I sponged over it with Crumb Cake ink. The door and the flower pots along with the lamps were put together using watercolour paper.

New Home!

One of my friends at work just moved into their new home yesterday. I've been itching for an excuse to try out this whimsical house stamp and thinlit bundle so was thrilled to have a perfect excuse to use it. I love the whimsy of this set, the house made up of flowers is just sweet and fresh and it came together very easily. My only tip would be to start with the larger stamp first, this is a 3-layer stamp so start with the largest (powder pink), then with the leaves (lemon lime twist) then with the tiny flowers (peekaboo peach)

Here's a close up of the images. They are so fun, I love it!

Recipe
Stamps : Home Life
Cardstock : Shimmery White, Powder Pink, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach
Ink : Powder Pink, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach
Accessories : Big Shot, Welcome Home Framelits, Embossing Folder (retired)

Congratulations Card

A friend of mine asked me to make a card for their "newly-qualified doctor" daughter, Esha. She wanted something special which could be out on display next to Esha's gradution photo.

I reached for 2 of the new "in-colours" for 2017/2018, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Blast. The card is based on this one by Sabrina. I used "Lift me Up", mounting the main balloon on a panel using a window sheet so it appears to be floating. I thought the sentiment was perfect too!

Recipe
Stamps : Lift Me Up
Cardstock : Shimmery White, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Blast DSP, Window Sheeet
Ink : Berry Blast, Lemon Lime Twist
Accessories : Big Shot, Up & Away Thinlits, Lemon Lime Ribbon, Crystals

Papertrey Just Desserts

I had a play with some Papertrey Ink stamps recently. This set, Just Desserts is just lovely! You can see from the pics below that there are dies to match the images. This first card uses the die to pop up the flowers on the cake.

This time, I just stamped the images, no matching dies were used. It's much more simple.

This version switches from flowers on the cake, to strawberries. Such a lovely versatile set.
