Featured Stamper and Watercolouring

I needed a card for my cousin's baby, Oliver. He's being Christened on Sunday and I wanted a card for them. I headed over to the Featured Stamper's Challenge on Splitcoast for some inspiration and found this cute card by Nichole, aka ButterflyEars. It inspired me to try to watercolour, I'm still not very good at it, I need to practice, practice, practice and I'm ashamed to say that the colouring on here took me well over an hour!!!

Recipe
Stamps : Picnic Parade
Cardstock : SU Watercolour Paper, So Saffron

Limited Supply Challenge with the Milk Carton

The challenge on SCS today is to make a milk carton ... thank goodness I have my SU mini milk carton die, love that thing!!! Because it's limited supplies, I made it out of DSP and used some scraps to punch out hearts. NOT the most inspiring piece of work, but cute enough! I punched the 1" holes and added window sheets to add a little bit of interest!

Recipe
Stamps : Vintage Labels (for you)
Cardstock : Sending Love Specialty, scraps of Pretty in Pink and Rose Red
Ink : Choc Chip
Accessories : Big Shot, Milk Carton Die, Heart Punch, Ribbon, Clip

Ways to Use ~ Textiles

So being with Debra really rubbed off on me and I've been on the Vintage kick for a couple of days now!!! But today, the WT (ways to use it) challenge on SCS was to incorporate textiles into our design. I absolutely love fabric and am a part-time quilter ... with a number of unfinished wall hangings lying sadly neglected in my sewing room! Anyway, I've reverted to my trusty 'CAS' style with this one, using my Big Shot to cut out a fabric butterfly with the Bigz Die 'Beautiful Butterflies'. I love it! So quick and easy to do!

Stamps : None!
Cardstock : Kraft, Very Vanilla, Ruby Red

More Vanilla & Soft Suede

I just had time this morning to squeeze in the sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers! It was quick so this isn't my most exciting card ever, but it's OK. I used all the stuff on my desk from yesterday! Here's a close up of the oval from Vintage Labels. I just sponged the edges for definition, and used the horizontal slit punch to make my ribbon detail.

Stamps : Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage, Vintage Labels
Cardstock : Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Ink : Soft Suede
Accessories : Large Oval Punch, Soft Suede Ribbon, Horizontal slit punch, Sponge

Club Projects

My Stampin' Up Club met last night after a short break and we had a BLAST stamping together again. The only sad thing was that one of our girls, Cindy, was away. Don't feel too sorry for her though, she's taken all her stamping stuff down to Florida!!! We did miss you though Cindy!

I wanted to let you see the other projects we worked on. The mini milk carton is very sweet, it's teeny tiny, we could fit 4 Hershey Nuggets easily in one ... some of us chose to eat ours instead though (not mentioning any names ~ you know who you are!!) It's decorated with the new Sending Love Specialty Paper, one of the patterns coordinates with the trio flower punch, so we used it to decorate the lid.

And finally, a very simple single layer card using the tree trunk from 'Season of Friendship'. I love how this turned out, we used the small heart punch, also brand new in the mini, to make love heart leaves. Of course, the card was finished off with some Champagne Mist shimmer!!

Ink : Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Craft Choc Chip

January Club Project

Oh my word, where is January going? I have been ridiculously busy, hardly any time for stamping {pout}. However, tonight is the first meeting of my lovely Club girls after a few months' break. Shelly asked for a technique, so I chose to make a flip/fold card which I found on Jackie Topa's blog. Here's her tutorial. I also found a wonderful card in the SCS gallery by Marie McClellan for the stamp set 'Tiny Tags' ... isn't it divine? So I CASE'd the heart. I like how it turned out, it's tricky to do, but worth the results!

Here's the set inside the display box. It's held shut with a belly band and has an acetate lid so you can see the inside.
